We had a deck at the back of our house that was open to the elements and was unusable most of the year.  We wanted it covered with a roof that would attach to our house.  The deck was in the “L” of the house and there was a unique problem in that the roof over the deck would intersect three other roof lines.  We contacted five contractors to get an estimate for the work.  Of the five contractors, only three came out to scope the job.  One we never heard from.  One presented an estimate that planned for only part of the porch being covered (that roof line problem).

Jennings Smith of Reality Construction was the only contractor who indicated he could do the job and presented an estimate and plan for joining the roof lines.  The estimate included replacing the old deck surface and building the remaining porch features to match the other architectural features of the house.  Jennings was able to tie the new roof line into the exiting house making it look like it was part of the original house plan.

We are extremely pleased with our new porch and spend many hours enjoying the space.

I first met Mr. Smith when he was building a house in my neighborhood.  I had just started meeting with builders for my own house at the time, and had not met anyone yet who was the right “fit” for me.  He invited me in to view the job, pointing out details and answering all of my questions – he was excited about his work and very informative. It really impressed me when he told me that he encouraged his clients to monitor the work in progress and that he encouraged input.  I knew right then that he was the builder for me.

When he began the job, Mr. Smith provided me with a timetable for the completion of my house.  He was very conscientious about adhering to the budget, and kept me up to date on his progress.  He and his excellent team even finished the project a few weeks ahead of schedule!  Mr. Smith asked me to give him a call if there were any problems or questions, and true to his word, he always followed up with me immediately.

Mr. Smith’s confidence, skill, and enthusiasm made what I thought was going to be a highly stressful situation, pleasant and fulfilling.  I have recommended Reality Construction to friends and family.
